What Causes Concrete To Settle?
Concrete can settle for a few of reasons. (1) If the compaction of the base is done poorly the weight of the slab will compress it further causing the concrete to settle. (2) Climate change. Freezing causes the slab to expand and then when it thaws the slab will contract causing the concrete to settle. Heat and drought will cause the base soils to shrink, causing the slabs to settle and then when it receive rain it'll expand once again causing the slab to shift and become uneven. (3) Erosion. Improper drainage can cause the base soils under the concrete to wash away causing the slabs to settle. (4) Traffic. The vibrations from traffic can cause the base soils to compact which will lead to settling.
How Big Are The Holes?
The holes are about the size of a dime (5/8”) far smaller than traditional mudjacking, helping to maintain the structural integrity of your concrete.
How Long Does The Work Take To Be Done?
The amount of time it takes depends on the size of the job, however most residential jobs can be completed in just a few hours.
What Do You Do With The Holes When You Are Done?
The holes are all filled with a cement/concrete mix and sealed.
Is There A Warranty?
Yes. If your concrete settles more than 3/8" in a year we will come out and fix it. Warranty information will be printed and given to you with the estimate.
Is A Building Permit Required?
No.
